Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and every third party your responses and recordings are sent to.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
1.Who is responsible for your data
ABCD PTE is operated by ABCD AI, the team that also operates abcdielts.com; our office addresses are on the contact page. ABCD AI decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it.
For anything about your data, write to support@abcdpte.com with “Privacy” in the subject line — data requests go to the team directly, and there is no separate department to be routed through.
2.What we collect
Account information
Your email address, and the password you set — which is stored only as a hash by our authentication provider, never as text we can read. If you tell us your country, we store that too; it determines which currency and price you are offered.
What you produce in the portal
- Typed responses to writing and speaking-related items.
- The options you select on fixed-answer items.
- Audio recordings of your voice, made when you answer a speaking item. See section 3.
- Your scores, trait-level marking output, reports, progress, and which items you have attempted and when.
Billing information
If you subscribe, Stripe processes the payment. Your card number never touches our servers — you enter it on Stripe’s own checkout page. What we store is the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, your billing interval, the region your price came from, and the subscription’s status and current period end.
Technical information
Like any website, we generate ordinary server and error records — IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, the pages requested, and stack traces when something breaks. We use them to keep the service running, diagnose faults, and detect abuse.
3.Your audio recordings
Speaking practice only works if we record you, so this deserves to be spelled out rather than buried in a list.
- When. Your microphone is used only while you are doing a speaking item or a microphone check, and only after your browser has asked for and received your permission. The portal does not listen in the background.
- Where it is stored. In our file storage at Supabase, tied to your account, so that your report can play back what you said.
- Where it is sent. To SpeechAce, to score pronunciation and fluency. For some question types, a transcript or the text of your response is also sent to Anthropic for content marking.
- Who can hear it. You, and the small number of people who administer the portal — for support and for checking marking quality when something is disputed.
- Deleting it. Ask us at support@abcdpte.com and we will delete your recordings. Deleting a recording also removes the audio playback from any report that used it.
4.Why we use it
- To run the portal — sign you in, serve practice items, mark your answers, and build your reports and progress history.
- To take payment and give you the access your plan includes.
- To support you when you email us, including investigating a score you think is wrong.
- To keep the service working and secure — error monitoring, fault diagnosis, preventing abuse and account sharing.
- To improve the content and the marking — for example, spotting items that everyone gets wrong because the item is broken.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and payment records.
Where your local law requires us to name a legal basis for each of these: we rely on contract performance to deliver the service you signed up for, legitimate interests for product analytics and security, your consent for marketing communications (revocable at any time), and legal obligation for tax and payment records. Our Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
5.Who else handles your data
We use the services below to run ABCD PTE. Each one sees only what it needs. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
| Service | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, and file storage | Your account details, everything you produce in the portal, and your audio recordings |
| Vercel | Hosting and delivery of the site | Request and technical data — IP address, browser, pages requested |
| Stripe | Payment processing and subscriptions | Your email and the payment details you enter on Stripe’s own checkout. Card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers |
| SpeechAce | Pronunciation and fluency scoring | Your audio recordings for speaking items |
| Anthropic | AI marking of content and language traits | The text of your written responses, and transcripts of spoken ones |
| Resend | Sending service email — password resets, billing notices | Your email address and the contents of that message |
| Sentry | Error monitoring | Technical error data, which can include your account identifier and the page you were on |
We may also share data where the law requires it, or with professional advisers, or with a buyer if the business is sold — in which case this policy travels with it.
6.Where your data goes
The services above operate internationally, so your data may be stored or processed in a country other than the one you live in — including the United States.
Where your local law requires specific safeguards for that transfer, we rely on the data-processing agreement we hold with each provider, which carries the contractual protections that law requires. Each provider processes your data only on our instructions and only to deliver its service to us.
7.How long we keep it
We keep your account, attempts, scores and recordings for as long as your account is open, because that history is the product — your progress chart is your old attempts.
When your account is deleted, your profile, attempts, scores, Olly conversations and mistake records are deleted with it. Stored audio recordings are removed in a follow-up sweep shortly after — they live in a separate audio store, and we would rather name that step than pretend it is instant. Payment records are kept for seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations, regardless of account deletion; Stripe holds its own copy of them for the same reason.
8.Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data — including your audio recordings — or close your account entirely;
- send you a copy of your data in a portable form;
- stop a particular use of your data, or object to it.
Email support@abcdpte.com from the address on your account. We will respond as quickly as we can, and within any period your local law requires. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data-protection regulator.
Some deletions cannot be undone. Deleting your attempts deletes your reports and progress history with them.
9.Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the portal: the session cookies our authentication provider sets so that you stay signed in as you move between pages, and the security tokens that go with them.
We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy before doing so.
Blocking these cookies will stop you from being able to sign in. The portal also uses your browser’s local storage for small interface preferences, such as the study goal shown on your dashboard.
10.How we protect it
- The site is served over HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider. Nobody at ABCD can read your password.
- The database enforces row-level access rules, so one student’s account cannot read another student’s attempts, recordings or reports even if the application has a bug.
- Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate the service.
No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and any regulator we are required to notify.
11.Children
ABCD PTE is intended for people aged 13 and over; users between 13 and 17 need verifiable permission from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact support@abcdpte.com and we will delete it.
12.Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle your data, we update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. For a change that materially affects you — a new sub-processor receiving your recordings, for example — we will tell you by email.
13.Contact
Privacy questions and data requests go to support@abcdpte.com with “Privacy” in the subject line, as section 1 says. See our contact page for what to include, and our Terms of Service for the rules that govern your use of the portal.
